The Israel Multiple Sclerosis Society – International MS Day
International MS Day will be remembered this year as a turning point in the National Insurance Institute’s approach to MS patients, with the publication of a directive and a form for medical committees that secure the rights of patients, according to the nature of the disease and the variations and differences between patients. The directive refers to a list of most of the disabilities suffered by MS patients, for which they will be entitled to a disability pension and loss of working capacity allocation. For the first time, the directive states that «in the initial period, from the onset of the symptoms of the disease, before the clinical process and results of treatment are clear, a temporary disability will be set for a period of up to two years, depending on the severity of the various disabilities, and the temporary disability will only be put in place once” – attached is the special directive issued by the National Insurance Institute.
