Special workshops held in 2016

Updated 20.02.2017

Group for caregiving partners

Parents group and parallel group of children with Multiple Sclerosis (dog training workshop)

The workshop approach was formulated after drawing conclusions in response to specific requests by members of the society. The workshop was developed to include 4 – 5 sessions and designed for a specific group of people. The workshop is topic-specific and focuses on coping.

Workshop for caregiving partners – this is the second workshop dealing with this subject (the first was held in 2015).

In the Israel MS Society, it is customary for partners of people with MS to be invited and to participate in meetings of support groups. However, there is a distinct need, that is also expressed in requests by members, to hold specific meetings.

There is no doubt that the workshop provides a space for expression that is not possible in nearly any other setting. Participants feel confident that the workshop will contain and include them, allowing them to speak, to ask difficult questions, and even to be sad and angry.

During the workshop sessions, several issues were raised: finding the power within, dealing with the need not only to give but also to receive help, communication between family members, accompanying a sick person and being attentive – and what will happen to me? And much more.

The workshop was a great success according to participants, and the society will definitely continue these wonderful activities.
